FAQ

R1 Invitational Virtual Event

Can I buy multiple passes?

YES! Each pass grants you one additional chance to win lotteries you have entered.

Each pass purchased also includes a stainless steel playing card for use during our year-end poker hand event.

I bought a pass! What's next?

You will receive an email at 11:00AM on the first day of the show with an access link to a dedicated part of our site where the show will be held that only pass holders can access.

Please make sure you are able to receive marketing emails from Recon1 to ensure you don't miss our emails!

Do I need to be logged into my Recon1.com account to enter the show?

Yes! Your customer account profile will have special passholder access permissions.

Please make sure you are able to receive marketing emails from Recon1 to ensure you don't miss our emails!

I didn't receive the access email and it is passed 11:00AM PST on the day of the show. What do I do?

Please make sure you are able to receive marketing emails from Recon1 to ensure you don't miss our emails!

If you believe your marketing preferences are correct and do accept emails from us, then please email sales@recon1.com and someone will help you.

How will the knives be offered?

Most knives will be offered through a lottery system. Occasionally knives will be available through first come/first serve opportunities as well.

We plan on bringing Auctions to the show in 2025.

Can I choose which lotteries I want to participate in?

YES! You can choose to enter for one lottery or all of them. Each lottery draw happens independently of the others.

If I purchase multiple passes, can I win multiples of the same knife?

For lotteries where there are more than knife available, buying multiple passes will increase your chances of winning, however it will not allow you to win multiple times.

Of course, you can win multiple different lotteries!

When can I enter the lottery?

We will send an access link to you via email and you and will have until Monday 11:00AM PST to enter. Winners will be drawn shortly after.

Please make sure you are able to receive marketing emails from Recon1 to ensure you don't miss our emails!

How will I know if I have won?

We will send an email with dedicated purchase links to the winners.

We will also send a text message to check your email as well if a phone number is provided.

I won! How much time do I have to make my purchase?

Winners will have 2 hours from the time the email is sent. If the winner does not complete their purchase by then, another name will be drawn.

I will be at work / not have access to internet when the drawing results are done. Can the time be extended?

We can make special accommodations for these situations BEFORE the lotteries are completed.

Please send an email to sales@recon1.com to request an extension and we will accommodate as best we can.

TKI / FNBA INVITATIONAL SHOWS

My Number was drawn. Am I obligated to purchase the knife?

You are not obligated to purchase any knives at the show. If your badge number is drawn and choose to pass on the knife for yourself but have a friend that wants to buy it, then your friend must give you the funds for YOU to make the purchase. To be clear, the corresponding winner MUST pay for the knife.

I was declared the highest bidder for an open-bid auction. Am I obligated to purchase the knife?

Yes. Your bid is your commitment to pay if you are declared the highest bidder. If it is brought to our attention that this commitment is not fulfilled, then the attendee is banned from attending any future invitational shows. We take this rule very seriously, as each invited knifemaker has spent a painstakingly large amount of time building the knife, and the integrity of our auctions is a critical part of providing the maker a platform to be compensated for their hard work.

I was declared the highest bidder for a closed bid auction.

What form of payment is accepted to purchase a knife?

This is to the discretion of each particular maker. It is best to contact the specific makers you are interested in prior to the show to get a clear idea of what forms of payment to be prepared for.

Is there a return policy on any of the knives purchased at the show?

Unless a knife is deemed a “defect” and has a critical flaw, all sales are final. This is the standard policy of the show, but any specific policy made exclusively by a maker supersedes our policy, so be sure to ask the specific makers if they have any return policy in place. R1 Promotions is not responsible for the reimbursement of any knives sold at the show.

What's the difference between a VIP Pass and a Spectator Pass?

VIP passes allow attendees to participate in the lotteries and auctions that will take place Friday evening. Spectator badges gain access to the show, but cannot participate in any of the lotteries and auctions taking place Friday evening. Both passes are qualified as VIP passes for the following show on Saturday.

I purchased my tickets online. Will I receive a badge in the mail?

No. Your email confirmation of your order is all you need. Once you arrive to the show, head over to the registration desk in front of the show ballroom and provide a copy of the order confirmation (either paper or on a mobile device) and a form of ID and your badge will be given then.

I'm running late, can I pick up my badge after the show has begun?

Yes. You can pick up your badge at the registration desk in front of the show ballroom. If the lottery drawing process has begun, your collector number will be added at that time.

What hotel do you recommend?

We recommend you stay at the hotel that the show is being held at not only for the discounted room block rate, but also the convenience of being close to the show.

I purchased multiple tickets. Do I need individual names on each ticket

Yes. Every VIP badge for our invitational events requires an individual’s name. Each badge is unique, and one individual cannot be associated with multiple collector number badges. Be sure to fill out all the badge names during checkout when purchasing your ticket.

I purchased multiple tickets. Can I pick up all the badges I ordered?

Each individual that is associated with a VIP collector badge must be present at the registration desk at the front of the show to pick up their unique badge. Badges cannot be picked up “on behalf” of another collector; regardless of who purchased it. The only exception to this rule is for Companion passes that do not participate in lotteries and auctions.

Can I purchase multiple passes for myself to increase my odds in the lottos?

No. Each attendee is allowed only a single collector number badge.
